Sekisui Kydex is a highly functional molding material "Acrylic Modified High Impact Vinyl Plate" born from the integration of Sekisui's unique high technical strength, the pliability of PVC and acrylic moldability. It is lightweight but strong, and we combine outstanding formability with various advanced characteristics, thereby responding to diversified needs in various fields. Sekisui < Kydex > is widely used as a housing molding material in various industries such as aircraft, vehicles, and medical equipment. Special grades with unique characteristics such as low smoke emission and high flame retardancy are also available.

FEATURES

■ Easy deep drawing
· As drawing magnification, it is possible to form it 6 times larger, making it ideal for vacuum forming and pressure forming.
· Easy deep drawing in the temperature range of 177 ℃ to 199 ℃.
· Izod impact value at 0 ° C is as high as 20 KJ / m 2, and it can be used at low temperature. (K-100)
· Molding under wide-area conditions is possible.
■ Excellent machining with a high standard
· With high impact resistance NC processing, no cracking occurs in trimming by press punching.
· Easy processing such as press forming, machining, saw cutting, scissor cutting, drilling and punching.
· It can be joined to other materials such as by welding and bonding.
· Special resistance force retention against breaks during molding which is not found in other thermoplastic sheets. (hot-tear strength)
■ High flame retardancy
· Equivalent to UL-94 V-0 (combustion test ASTM D-635)
· Flammability compatible with flammability standards for interior materials for railway cars.
· Ideal for interior materials for aircraft and railway cars because of little smoke during combustion. (low smoke grade)
· It complies with the flammability standards of U.S. city mass transit agencies. (K-6200)
· Meets FAA aircraft standards.
■High impact resistance / chemical resistance
· Impact strength retention comparable to polycarbonate and FRP with Izod impact value.
· There is no discoloration or, physical property deterioration, etc. due to chemical adhesion.
■ Uniform wall thickness and light weight
· It is unnecessary to perform special temperature adjustment etc. to uniformly mold the wall thickness.
· Specific gravity is 1/6 that of iron and lightweight. Excellent formability and to demonstrate its effectiveness in weight reduction for aircraft, interior materials of vehicles, etc.

· Ideal for medical instrument housings.
· Dirt adhering to the surface is easily removed with a commercial cleaner.
