function Forte’s shape retention function
Forte is a plastic sheet material created with SEKISUI SEIKEI’s unique molecular orientation technology that enables it to retain its shape after bending, similar to metal or wire. Forte contributes to product development with features absent in metal, like light weight and excellent processability.

Light weight
Forte has a specific gravity of 0.97 and is so light it floats on water. Switching from other materials can reduce the weight of products.

Forte | General-purpose polyolefin | Aluminum | |
---|---|---|---|
Thickness | 0.6mm | 0.5mm | 0.5mm |
Specific gravity | 0.97 | 0.95 | 2.7 |
Tensile strength | 500MPa | 24MPa | 270MPa |
Young’s modulus | 14GPa | 1GPa | 70GPa |
Nonmetal
Forte is made of polyolefin and can safely be used with a metal allergy.
It does not rust or break from metal fatigue like metal does. It does not affect magnetic fields and does not trigger metal detectors.
Recyclable
The main material in Forte is polyolefin that is made of carbon and hydrogen. It does not contain any metal or glass and is easy to recycle.
Processability
Forte can be adapted into various sizes in post-processing such as sheet punching or slitting.
Narrow slitting can create an alternative for wire.

type Types of Forte sheets
Forte (single layer sheet)
The molecular orientation in Forte is in the machine direction, and it retains its shape when bent in the machine direction.
It does not retain its shape in the transverse direction and will eventually snap.

Forte (laminated sheet)
This is a laminated sheet of Forte with alternating orientation direction.
Lamination allows it to keep its shape when bent either vertically or horizontally.

Purpose Forte applications
Forte is used in various fields for its unique functions.
